How to: Mechanic Shop Guide

This section explains how to operate as a mechanic at either the Tunershop or Auto Exotics in the HTNFW framework, including examining and repairing customer vehicles.

Vehicle Repair Process

1. Customer Vehicle Drop-Off:
   • Customers will bring their vehicle to either the Tunershop or Auto Exotics.
2. Position the Vehicle:
   • Drive the customer’s vehicle into a repair bay at the shop.
3. Examine the Vehicle:
   • Interaction: Use your targeting system (third eye) on the vehicle and select Examine.
4. Check Degradation:
   • Interaction: From the context menu, select View Degradation.
   • Function: Review the list of vehicle parts and their condition. Parts with a degradation value below 10.0 require repair.
5. Craft Repair Parts:
   • Interaction: Access the parts crafting book to create the necessary items for each repair.
   • Function: Craft the required parts and use them to repair the vehicle’s degraded components.

Repairing Cosmetic Damage and Customizing Vehicles

1. Position the Vehicle:
   • Drive the customer’s vehicle into a repair bay at Benny’s.
2. Access the Customization Menu:
   • Interaction: Use your interaction key to open the customization menu.
3. Options:
   • Repair Cosmetic Damage: Fix visible damage such as scratches, dents, or broken windows.
   • Vehicle Upgrades: Apply performance or aesthetic upgrades, including:
     • Adding a turbo.
     • Upgrading suspension.
     • Changing the vehicle’s color.
     • Other customization options available in the menu.
4. Apply Changes:
   • Confirm the selected repairs or upgrades to complete the process.
